How does Walkgreen® Decking Compare?
…to redwood and cedar –
Most redwood and cedar available today is second-growth and less weather-resistant than old growth. Our hard, dense, rot-resistant hardwoods will outlast cedar and redwood by years or even decades.
…to pressure-treated wood –
WalkGreen hardwoods are naturally resistant to decay, unlike pressure-treated wood which is injected with chemical fungicides and insecticides like copper oxide, chromatic oxide, or arsenic acid.
…to composite decking –
Although WalkGreen hardwood is very resilient, it is completely natural material that will eventually return to the earth and build soil for new growth. Composite decking may contain recycled plastic, but it cannot be recycled further and will pollute the environment after its useful life is over.
